I do not think that any believer has a problem accepting that GOD is love.  So what does this mean to those who confess Him over their lives?

It is so easy for us to be drawn into a list of rules of rules to follow and yet it means nothing to the fact that He is love.  You can even love the rules you follow and still not have the love of GOD in your life.  So, it being true that He is love, why then are His children not recognized for the same character?

When one comes to confess Him, then you may now hate the sin of your past and even embrace things you did not before.  This still is not the love of GOD.  He says, “That our standing with Him must exceed that of being religious, it must be in our heart.”

Mental assent of what His love is will not be enough to bring change in our lives.  It is having relationship with love that will produce the love we need to fulfill His command to us and toward others, even our enemies.
